As of July 2003 the requirements of directive 99/92/EC were enforced across Great Britain and across Europe.
Parts 3, 7 and 11 of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR) apply to most workplaces where a potentially explosive atmosphere may occur. Employers are required to eliminate or control the risk from dangerous substances (further information on these requirements can be found here). If you are handling fuel within a hazardous area you will require an ATEX certified transfer pump.
